Odor Out BL

DESCRIPTION
Odor Out BL is a liquid concentrate for the control of odors in a wide variety of applications including wastewater, process water, compost sites, landfill sites, and solid waste. It works by complexing with ammonia and hydrogen sulfide and similar compounds to neutralize odor immediately upon contact. Odor Out BL is formulated from a natural plant extract derived from succulent plants indigenous to the United States and Mexico. The extract contains natural surfactants which tend to reduce scum build-up in drain pipes and enhance water penetration in soil to which treated water or sludge is applied.

METHODS OF APPLICATION
Odor Out BL is diluted with 15 to 500 parts water to each part of product before application. Dilution rates vary with the magnitude of the odor and the application mechanics. Odor Out BL may be metered into a waste flow, sprayed on the surface of lagoons, sprayed on the surface of sludge and solid waste, or atomized or misted. Spraying may be accomplished with backpack sprayers, spray trucks, or a fire hose. Typically a beginning dose rate and dilution rate is determined according to the recommended dose and dilution for the type of waste. An optimal dose rate is determined in subsequent applications by cutting back on the beginning dilution or dose rate until the desired degree of odor control and frequency of application is obtained at the least amount of cost.

RECOMMENDED RATES:
Composting: Mix a 1:200 dilution into fresh waste as it is formed into piles. Also spray on surface as a top dressing. Sewer and Lift Stations: Spray onto surfaces. Meter into flows at rates of 1 to 5 ppm. If wet scrubbers are used, substitute 1:200 solution with scrubber blowdown discharge into sewer flow. Grit chambers: Meter in at 3-5 ppm. Aeration chambers, ponds: Shock dose with 10 to 15 ppm. Maintain with 3 to 5 ppm daily to sewage flow into headworks or into basins or chambers. Anaerobic sludge digesters: Shock dose of 15 ppm. Maintain with 5-8 ppm maintenance doses daily. Aerobic sludge digesters: 3-5 ppm daily maintenance. Final clarifiers, Sludge Thickeners: Add 3-5 ppm to flow and spray 1:25 dilution onto concrete weirs and other components that may harbor sulfide-producing slime growth. Sludge dewatering, drying: Mix 10 ppm dose into sludge prior to dewatering. Spray 1:200 solution onto surface of sludge in drying beds and use same dilution to wash equipment during clean-up. Mix 10 ppm into slude prior to land application. Industrial Wastewater: Apply as with municipal treatment systems, but higher dosages may be required to achieve and maintain the desired odor reduction because of the concentrated nature of wastes. For example, maintenance doses of 10 ppm to industrial effluent flow may be needed in aerated pond systems.
